IMPORTANT UPDATE

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

I hope this message finds you and your families healthy and safe. We still have 5 confirmed members that have tested positive for Covid-19 in Local 1120. There are 2 in our Marist unit, and 1 each at Vassar, Monroe Library and Verizon. Those members continue to recover, quarantining at home, or have returned to work. 

We are awaiting information from Marist on their plans for reopening.

At Vassar we continue unofficial dialogue with Vassar on their plans moving forward. Vassar has approached CWA and other Unions about possible financial relief for the College during this Pandemic. CWA has made it clear that we will listen to all of their concerns but, initially we do not believe that Vassar has made a compelling case for the need for relief. They have also not done anything to show they are taking any first steps to alleviate the problems they think may arise.

Any rumors coming out of any units are just that, rumors. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU HEAR THAT DOESN’T COME FROM YOUR UNION! 

At Verizon, in light of Covid-19, The Regional and Local Work Family Committee have updated the Health & Wellness Application. Since gyms are closed we will start to accept Home Fitness Subscriptions to the program. As long as the subscription is in the member's name and they make the payments they qualify for reimbursement. The updated application is posted on our website. Contact your Business Agent if you have any questions or need assistant.  

AT&T Mobility will no longer pay any bonuses related to Covid-19 effective May 10, 2020. The Union and employees were notified on May 4, 2020 of this change. 

Remember, if at any time you feel there is an unsafe condition that may put you at risk, report it to your Supervisor and contact a Steward or Business Agent immediately!
