A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

I hope this message finds you and your families healthy and safe. 

There have been no new positive tests for any members within CWA Local 1120.

The Hudson Valley continues through its phase reopening. Many of the contracts we represent are transitioning back to normal at a slow pace.

Verizon has notified the Union of their intention to end the bonus pay. The last day it will be in effect is July 4^th. We are still in discussions with Verizon on an extension of the Home Garaging as well as the Work from Home agreements. We will update if and when we have an agreement.

CWA Local 1120 is waiting on a date for our next Marist meeting. We will update as soon as available.

We need to continue to be vigilant as the July 4^th weekend approaches. I am sure everyone is anxious to get out and socialize. We do need to make sure that we wear a face covering and maintain social distancing in a smart way, as best as possible. We do not want to have a spike like many parts of country are experiencing. Not long ago, New York State was just that.  

Any rumors coming out of any units are just that, rumors. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU HEAR THAT DOESN’T COME FROM YOUR UNION! 

Remember, if at any time you feel there is an unsafe condition that may put you at risk, report it to your Supervisor and contact a Steward or Business Agent immediately!
